The service properties of the components of internal combustion engines operating at elevated temperatures under high pressure and in corrosive environment (e.g., rings, valves, valve seats, and turbocompressor components) can be improved significantly by applying nano-composite coatings exhibiting the invariably low friction coefficient and wear rate in the temperature range of 25–700oС. The deposition of ion-plasma coatings allows one to improve the other groups of products, such as high-loaded components of the transmission components in motor vehicles and industrial units, components of automatically controlled boiler and stove systems, isothermal molds and hot draw plates.
