Diamond-containing tools with a nanomodified binder (diamond ring drills, diamond segmental cutting wheels, and rope saws) can be efficiently used to perform construction and reconstruction works at civil and industrial buildings, dismantling and reconstruction of such objects as nuclear and hydroelectric power plants, central heating and power plants, road and highway bridges, various dams, sea and river crafts, etc. There is also a problem in heavy engineering requiring the use of diamond-containing cutting tools, since the alternative technologies are not efficient enough. This problem is associated with the removal of blast-furnace sow and with the technological envelops (gate systems and allowances when manufacturing of molded and forged pieces of significant weight). The use of diamond-cutting tools for these purposes will allow one to drastically enhance the power efficiency and environmental safety of this process, since it does not require one to provide high temperatures during processing, ensures the minimal allowance of metal for further processing and the absence of environmental emissions. The designed nano-modified binders increase the performance of a tool by 40% and its service life by a factor of 1.5–2 as compared to the diamond-containing cutting tools with the conventional binders, while the production costs increase insignificantly (by less than 10%).
