PIPELINE CORROSION STUDY Study of corrosion resistance of low alloy and corrosion resistant steels used in pipelines; analysis of reasons for corrosion in pipe material. The research covers corrosion resistance of low alloy and ligated steels mostly used in pipelines depending on water composition and operation conditions (temperature, oxygen content). The following factors can impact corrosion process in pipeline operation: • Corrosion environment (content, pH, temperature, potential) determines the type of corrosion on the specific pipeline • Pipe metal stress-strain behavior parameters (external strain level, cyclic recurrence, load cycle form, etc) determine the corrosion kinetics • Metallurgy factors (steel quality: content, purity, structure characteristics, properties) determine pipe metal corrodibility.
