The goal of this work is development of composite materials based on ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, reinforced with carbon fibers. The intended uses of these composites are highly stressed components of friction pairs. Friction coefficient of these materials close to the graphite filled polytetrafluoroethylene composites; also they have better wear resistance and better mechanical properties. Creep under load of the carbon fibers reinforced composites is significantly lower than the matrix polymer. It is shown that the reinforcing with carbon fibers has a significant positive effect on the thermal conductivity of UHMWPE, increasing it twice.
