Research of Structure and Properties of Thermoelectric Materials Based on Si-Ge Alloys, Heusler Ni (X) Sn Alloys as well as Chromhin, Ferrum and Magnesium Silicide. For the last fifty years there has been interest in studing thermoelectrical materials. Presenly such materials are used in cooling elements of computer processors, IR-detectors and cooling bags. Theoretical computation predicts that one of the promising methods to increase the efficiency of such thermoelectrics is to scale down an average size of a bicrystal grains to submicron level. It will result in shift up of phonon scattering at grains boundaries, which means lower thermal conductivity, which is inversely proportional to ZT thermoelectics quality factor. The research investigates physiacal properties of both nanostructured and composite (with nanosize second phase inclusions in the basic matrix) thermoelectrics based on Heusler NiMSn (M=Zr, Hf, Ti) and Si-Ge and Mg-Si alloy families obtained by mechanical fusion method and severe plastic deformation method.
