One of the fast growing, “hottest” and promising areas of mathematical psychology is development and research of models of knowledge formation and management, as well as experimental validation of these models and their application.
This research area is highly relevant due to both theoretical and applied problems of management of learning (including machine learning). Solving them is a way to ensure high quality of graduates training in schools and universities.
The key topics of the research area "Mathematical modeling of knowledge management processes" are:
1. Knowledge management based on mathematical models that account for stochastic characteristics of knowledge transfer and acquisition as well as information self-organization.
2. Network models of knowledge, their criterion assessment and management based on percolation theory and self-similarity. 3. Structural models of intelligence.
4. Application of the field theory and development of wave models of intelligence functioning and knowledge formation.
5. Development of management models for professional orientation and selection based on fuzzy logic mathematical modeling.
6. Psycho-physiological models of developing ergonomic human-machine interfaces.
7. Development of automated systems for management of learning, of knowledge diagnostics and professional orientation. These systems stems from control algorithms and mathematical models developed so far on the basis of knowledge psychology and new psycho-physiological models of man-machine interfaces.
8. Mathematical models and algorithms for control processes of student independent work in automated systems.
The research direction "Mathematical modeling of knowledge management processes" is charged by Dmitry Olegovich Zhukov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Chair of Regional Quality Management Systems of Higher Education, Institute of Quality in Higher Education in National University of Science and Technology "MISIS"(IQHE NUST MISIS).
Research activities in this area resulted in defending several theses (including one doctoral thesis)as well as in accomplishing a very important task of involving students in scientific and engineering creative work.Several scientific achievements in the research area "Mathematical modeling of knowledge management processes" are awarded with gold and silver medals of International Industrial Property Salons.
