BELT CONVEYORS WITH COMPLEX CURVED ROUTE It is common knowledge that the route of minerals transportation by belt conveyor can be quite long and often have curves both horizontal and vertical. It complicates the transportation task, as it is necessary to install additional conveyor line and reloading points. Economically wise it is not rational due to higher costs and negative impact on the environment (much dust). This task is solved with the development of new generation conveyors – with complex curved route. Application This type of conveyors is often used to transport materials from mining area to concentrating mills, shipment points, processing enterprises ( TPP for coal), in cement industry as well as during metro construction (tunneling) and long auto tunnel (over 5 km) construction. Presently such conveyors can be some dozens of km long due to the use of modern high endurance rubber rope belts with breaking strength of 8000 H/mm of the belt width and also due to the use of intermediate drives along the route. Besides such conveyors should be equipped with belts with targeted lateral stiffness which allows to preserve tray type pf the belt at curved parts and eliminates the possibility of stability loss.
